Klepper & Klepper is a father and son pilot shop
Klepper & Klepper is a small father and son pilot shop from Holland. The company started in 1990 from a small candy stall run by father Klepper, which over the years has expanded to produce this salmiakki, dubbed the best licorice in the world, The best licorice ever. After conquering Holland's specialty stores, the Kleppers were already looking outside the country. The world conquest just started in Finland, from us at the Chocolate Shop in Tallipiha.
The idea of honey salmiak was born in Holland in 2019. The Kleppers began to think about when they had tasted really good honey salmiak. The perfect amount of honey is essential in the honey salmiaki. It must not be too much, otherwise the product will be far too sweet. If there is too little honey, it doesn't taste enough, but the mere taste of honey takes over.
Klepper & Klepper found a small independent honey producer in Biesbosch, Holland. The Kleppers say that the honey producer in question does not use chemicals or pesticides at all and takes into account the natural living conditions of both plants and bees. The final product has 12 percent real honey, which is just the perfect amount for us!
Gluten-free and gelatin-free salmiak
So this honey salmiaki, like all other Salmiakis in the Klepper & Klepper product family, are gluten-free and gelatin-free. In the production of licorice, wheat starch is usually used, but Klepper's salmiaki uses potato starch, which is gluten-free. In addition, all flavors except honey are vegan.
